Creativity is one of the driving forces of human development. Unfortunately, if your family is not prone to schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, you are probably not one of the lucky ones to have a genetic predisposition to creativity. Researchers have found a link between mental disorders and creativity in families (creative people are more likely to be prone to schizophrenia or bipolar affective disorder). Creativity and psychosis are often linked at the genetic level.
If you do not carry genes that increase the risk of mental illness, don't despair! There is creative potential in each of us. We cannot say with certainty that genes are the only source of creativity. We have some tips for you on how to develop your creative potential.
To be wrong is creative
Make a mistake. It is one of the most important prerequisites for the development of creativity. After all, perhaps bread, as many believe today, was just an unfortunate mistake, a by-product of trying to make beer tastier. The plastic was born "by mistake" thanks to chemicals and spilled collodion in Jahn Haytt's laboratory. If you haven't tasted a mistake or a failure yet, you haven't even started to create properly.
Divergent thinking or think out of the box
If we are looking for the only right solution, our thinking converges to one point. This is convergent thinking. Try to deviate from the familiar and boring route and embark on an unusual path of divergent thinking.
Search for more solutions and generate new non-traditional possibilities. If that doesn't work, try asking your children (but only if they don't go to school yet. The kindergarten system is often based on correct or incorrect answers and leaves little room for students to come up with ideas that come out have not learned before).
„Enjoy the view“
Finally, put your headphones down and take a look around. Isolation from the world does not stimulate creativity. Inspiration is all around you. It grows from our daily experience.

Peek, soak up the experience, be curious and open to new ideas. You can start reading The Economist. It will greatly expand your knowledge. And don't forget people. If you want to create great things, surround yourself with great people.
I am interested in collaboration
If you set out on a path of collaboration and think that you will achieve brilliant ideas by brainstorming, you are wrong. They will be average.
Try it with your buddy
Surely you realize that you do not excel in everything. Try to work with someone who is good at what you are not. If you start from different disciplines, an unforgettable duet can be created. The world would be incomplete if Gabanna were without Dolce, Hardy without Laurel or Andráš without Vacvalová.

Slow down
Technologies are fast, but our brains still work in the analog world (if we are to be consistent, this is the world of the Stone Age, they are adapted to the lives of hunter-gatherers). Slow down, reflection and distance are needed when creating.
Escape from the ordinary
Avoid the trends and focus on innovation. Try unusual creations, be different. There is no originality. There are original ways of expressing thoughts and ideas, but the subject on which they are based is not original. There are over seven billion people in the world, and with almost every idea you have, there is a chance that someone else will have the same or a similar idea. Present your thoughts in a new way. Creative people do not connect the expected. Try using the juxtaposition. Combine two things that are rarely combinable. The most effective cases are those in which the objects are as contradictory as possible.
Drop your worries
During improvisation, or rather durning higher creativity, the brain switches and activity decreases in the areas responsible for our conscious monitoring. During improvisation, musicians turn off "self-censorship" in the brain so that they can generate new ideas without restriction. The creative brain works better when it does not participate in what we do.
Creative things should not be predictable - they should surprise (including their author). It's fun. Have fun!
